About Wes Anderson Welcome Wagon
Sunshine in dog form, with the perfect balance of social butterfly energy and goofy charm... this is Wes! Wes is estimated to be just over a year old and weighs around 51 lbs. Breed is a best guess, but he appears to be a lab/pittie mix with that happy-go-lucky, people-loving personality shining through in everything he does. Truly, this is a dog who wakes up ready to enjoy life... and of course, wants to bring you along with him.
Wes has this warm, welcoming energy that makes him instantly lovable. He doesn't hesitate with new people, he leans in. He adores affection, happily rolling over for a belly rub and he makes fast friends everywhere he goes. He's also wonderfully social with other dogs. Wes is friendly, playful, and knows how to mix and mingle, especially in a group setting. He would thrive with another medium-energy dog to play with and keep him company. That said, if his dog friend is too high energy, he'll happily match that vibe all day long... so a balanced playmate is the sweet spot for him. One of the things that makes Wes extra special is his off switch. After getting his playtime in, he's more than happy to come inside, flop down, and settle. That balance of playful energy and easy downtime makes him such a fun and easy companion. His love of play and other dogs does mean he is still growing out of that classic puppy enthusiasm on leash. He can be a bit of a puller when he sees other dogs and it is not reactivity, just excitement. We can see how well he responds to corrections and on top of that, he is very treat motivated, so with a little consistency and some snacks in your pocket, he will polish up nicely. Wes loves his food. Like, loves it. He takes treats gently and has great manners in that sense, even around other dogs. Think lab-level enthusiasm for meals. Wes met Biggie, our house cat, and he was very excited to make a new friend. He came in with kisses, play bows, and big "let's be besties" energy. Because of that enthusiasm, he'll do best with a dog-savvy cat who can set boundaries. Wes can get a little vocal, he likes to chat about things. Wes is ready to do more than just join your life... he is ready to brighten it, bring extra joy, extra laughter, and a whole lot of love!
Ideal Home
Wes would do well in a home with a yard or an apartment, as long as his person enjoys getting out and about with him. He would absolutely shine as a go-everywhere, do-everything kind of dog... hikes, patio hangs, neighborhood strolls, you name it. He'll do best with a dog-savvy cat who can set boundaries. A house with a yard is the dream. Apartment life isn't in the cards for him due to his vocal nature.
