Django

Django’s story is the kind that stays with you. He and his best friend were dumped in the desert and left to fend for themselves. For days, they sat faithfully in the same spot — waiting. Waiting for the car that wasn’t coming back. Waiting for someone to notice them. Then one day, a truck slowed down and tossed them food. Instead of running away, both dogs ran toward it — circling, following, keeping pace for two miles until the truck led them safely to a barn. In many ways, Django rescued himself. His best friend has since found a home. But sweet Django is still waiting for his person. About one year old and believed to be a Mountain Cur mix, Django is a soft, sensitive soul. He takes treats with incredible gentleness, as if he’s afraid to ask for too much. He looks up at you with those mournful, hopeful eyes, tail wagging — half a tail, actually — a little missing piece that somehow makes him even more special. Django survived the desert. Ideal Home

Django can be cautious with new people, but once he feels safe, his playful, silly side begins to shine through. What he wants more than anything is simple: one person who will show him he’s finally home.

Ongoing Health

Django is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and dewormed.

Training & Support

He is respectful around horses, fine with other dogs (happy to peacefully coexist), and when he sees cats, he politely averts his eyes as if to say, “I see nothing.” A true gentleman.
