Meet Onyx, a delightful 7-year-old Chi Dachshund mix weighing around 20lbs! This sweet girl has a calm, gentle spirit and a personality that is sure to bring a smile to your face every day. Onyx was rescued from an overcrowded shelter and is now showing everyone just how special she is. She is spayed, vaccinated, and up to date on all preventatives, making her ready to find her forever home.
Ideal Home
Onyx would do best in a semi-active to low-activity household where she can enjoy short walks and plenty of relaxing time. She loves her people and prefers to sit beside you rather than on top of you. She has done well with respectful kids ages 7-12 and would do best with older, dog-savvy children.
Ongoing Health
As an older gal with a bit of arthritis, Onyx enjoys a slower pace.
Training & Support
Onyx is house-trained, sleeps in her crate by choice, and can be crated for up to 10 hours. She does not resource guard or show food aggression and can be trusted to free roam the house without being destructive. She can get a little excited on leash when greeting new dogs, so continued leash training will be beneficial.

Transportation
Onyx is currently being fostered in San Antonio and can be transported out of state to the right approved adopter.
