Addie is a sweet, 4.5-year-old, spayed female Pitbull Terrier mix weighing around 45 pounds. She was rescued from a rough neighborhood and arrived underweight and suffering from mange, but she's now on the mend and eager to experience the joys of a loving home. Addie is a quick learner and is already doing well with crate training, even sleeping through the night and staying content during long workdays. While she's still perfecting her house manners and may have occasional accidents, she's a promising student ready to settle into a new routine. Addie is a gentle soul who will likely do well with older, calmer children and teenagers, and we recommend supervised introductions with any resident children to ensure everyone is comfortable. She's not overly playful but enjoys the company of male dogs her size or larger, learning from their cues. Addie is a curious girl who can be a bit too interested in female dogs she meets, but she hasn't yet found a canine girlfriend to play with. She has shown no aggression around food or resources, but she does have a big appetite and will try to eat other pets' food, so separate meal times are recommended.
Ideal Home
Addie would thrive in a home that can provide her with 20-30 minutes of walks twice a day, a yard to explore, and a male dog sibling to snuggle with. She's also enjoying her "Soft Life Era" and would love plenty of couches to relax on. She would likely do best with older, calmer pre-teens and teenagers.
Ongoing Health
Addie was treated for mange and was underweight upon rescue. She is now healthy and ready for her forever home.
Training & Support
Addie is crate trained and generally well-behaved in the house, though occasional accidents may occur as she adjusts to a new routine. She is learning to eat her meals separately to prevent any resource guarding issues.
