Bear

Bear is a one-eye wonder with an enlarged heart, just looking for someone to give him a gentle and loving home to live out his golden years! This 10-year-old, 20lb Shih Tzu male is crate trained, though he may need a little guidance to find his crate. He's also pee pad trained but does have occasional accidents. Bear loves to be close to his people, enjoying sit-on-you sessions and rub downs. He would especially benefit from a person with a gentle demeanor, as he acts tough but is quite sensitive. Bear knows how to use a doggie door and doesn't care much for toys.

Ideal Home

Bear would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. He is not recommended for homes with children due to his sensitivity and does not do well with other dogs, often growling at them. He is, however, good with cats. Bear does not like his eyes or face being messed with.

Ongoing Health

Bear is on Vetmedin for an enlarged heart. He does not like taking his medicine, so it is recommended to crush it and mix it with his food.

Training & Support

Bear is house-trained with occasional accidents. He may need gentle redirection to find his crate. Remember, he's sensitive and needs a calm presence.
