LAMAR

Meet Lamar, a 2.5-year-old, 72-pound bundle of sweetness! This handsome Plott Hound/Lab mix was found as a stray in St. Thomas and spent months in a shelter where he became withdrawn. Thankfully, a volunteer fostered him and, instead of returning him to the shelter, brought him to us through the Pets With Wings Program. Lamar is a loving boy who thrives with canine companionship and will play with his furry friends until he's happily exhausted! When he first meets new people, he can be skittish and may bark out of anxiety, often backing away. However, after time and with gentle patience, he warms up considerably. He's still adjusting to new surroundings and may have occasional accidents as he settles in. Lamar enjoys sleeping on beds or sofas but is also crate-trained. He has shown no reactivity towards cats and, due to his size and gentle nature, would make a great playmate for older children.

Ideal Home

Lamar would thrive in a home with at least one other dog. He needs a patient family who will give him time to adjust and build confidence.

Ongoing Health

Lamar is neutered and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Lamar is still learning to feel comfortable in new situations and may have accidents as he adjusts. He is crate trained and enjoys sleeping on furniture.
