Iris was pulled from a high-kill shelter in Texas along with her siblings, and now this sweet 3.5-year-old Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix is the last one waiting for her forever home! She's fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and ready to find her perfect match. Iris is a compact 47 pounds of pure love and goofy charm, though she can be a bit shy at first. Once she trusts you, she's all in, offering kisses and endless affection. She's a loyal companion who enjoys a good game of fetch and is happy to hang out by your side while you work.
Ideal Home
Iris would thrive in a quieter environment, perhaps with access to trails or open space, away from the hustle and bustle of city streets. She's a dream for someone working from home and would do best in an adult-only home, as she hasn't been around young children and can be fearful and reactive.

Training & Support
Iris is fully potty trained and crate trained, with her crate being her safe haven. She can exhibit food and resource guarding behaviors towards other dogs, so separate feeding is recommended if you have other pets. While she can be dog-selective, she has learned to build friendships with slow, intentional introductions and has learned to wrestle, chase, and share kisses with the dogs in her foster home. She can be reactive on leash when dogs get too close, so an owner who can create distance and set her up for success is ideal.

Transportation
