Kima's story is one of resilience and transformation. She came to us from a difficult hoarding situation, having spent her early life in an outdoor pen with over 20 other dogs. Kima had never experienced the comfort of a home, the feel of a collar and leash, or consistent gentle human interaction. Initially, she was understandably overwhelmed by her new surroundings – the sounds, the space, and the daily routines were all unfamiliar. With time, patience, and a lot of reassurance, Kima began to blossom. Today, she's a social butterfly who shines at adoption events, charming everyone she meets. While she might be a little reserved at first, her shyness quickly melts away, revealing a sweet and slightly goofy personality. Once she forms a bond, Kima loves being part of the family fun. This 8-pound, 5-year-old lady has a heart of gold and a spirit that proves patience can change lives.
Ideal Home
Kima would thrive in a home that offers safety and structure, which are crucial for her continued confidence. Due to her past, she can still be a bit flighty, so a secure environment is a must to prevent any accidental escapes. She would be happy as an only pet, but she would truly enjoy the company of a friendly small dog or even a playful cat who can help her feel secure and provide companionship.
Ongoing Health
Kima comes with a clean bill of health and is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, flea and heartworm prevention, and is microchipped. She has also been spayed.
Training & Support
While Kima has made incredible progress, her past experiences mean she benefits from continued understanding and gentle guidance. She doesn't require perfection, just a loving family willing to consistently show her that the world is a safe place and that love is forever.
