Muffin is a sassy, smart, and independent 4-year-old Papillon-Chihuahua mix who weighs about 13 pounds. She’s a survivor who has overcome past trauma and is now ready to find her perfect match. Muffin enjoys adventurous walks, but also loves a good dramatic nap. She is food-motivated and enjoys learning new things, especially when treats are involved. While she doesn't typically snuggle, she’s happy to be held or sit by her favorite people. Muffin is generally a quiet dog, only barking when she has a specific need to communicate.
Ideal Home
Muffin needs a home with a confident and balanced pack. She thrives in an environment with clear boundaries, routine, and assertive yet nurturing guidance. She prefers men but can accept women. A fenced yard is required for her safety and enjoyment. Due to her past experiences, Muffin cannot be in a home with children of any age. She requires another playful dog in the home who understands she is the "main character" and won't challenge her authority.
Ongoing Health
Muffin has healed from past injuries. All her vaccinations are up-to-date, and she has tested negative for heartworm and Lyme disease. She receives monthly heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.
Training & Support
Muffin is crate trained and house-trained. She walks well on and off-leash and has good recall. While she has basic obedience training, continued training is essential for her ongoing success. She is still learning to play with others and discover toys, and sometimes needs a reminder about boundaries.

Transportation
Muffin is currently being fostered in Indianapolis, IN. We do not ship any of our adoptable pets, but out-of-state adopters are welcome at their own expense.
