Long legs, soft eyes, and a heart that's still figuring out this big, wide world... this is Cody! Cody is estimated to be 5 years old and weighs in at 90 lbs of long-legged, light-footed love. He has the kind of presence that could feel big at first glance, but spend even a minute with him and you'll realize no one ever told Cody he's a big dog. He moves through life like a quiet, tender soul, more likely to lean into you for comfort than take up space. Cody may take a little time when meeting new people, and that's okay. New environments can feel overwhelming for him, so he's looking for someone who understands that trust is something built, not rushed. Give him a calm space and a steady routine, and you'll start to see him settle, soften, and show you the heart that his big frame carries. He is fostered in a loving home and his foster is just smitten over him, acknowledging that it did take him 1-2 weeks to settle in once he was home, but after that, he was just an easy companion. He's not a high-energy, go-go-go kind of dog. With other dogs, he's more of a "we can coexist peacefully" type. He doesn't need a playmate who's in his face; in fact, he prefers a calm, respectful dog who gives him space while he adjusts. Think quiet company over rowdy play sessions. Cody's version of everyday sweetness? Car rides! Cody knows the drill and will hop in on his own when you get the door, ready to be your low-key road trip buddy. Windows down, music of your choice, just the two of you cruising – that's his happy place. Cody also showed us a beautifully respectful side when meeting their house cat. He approached with quiet curiosity, kept his composure, and never showed any pushy or overwhelming behavior. No chasing, no insistence – just calm awareness and the ability to coexist. Based on what we saw, we can absolutely see Cody living peacefully in a home with a feline friend, especially one that has the same sense of respect for dogs. Cody is ready for someone who sees past the first impression and into the heart of who he is – a soft, soulful companion with so much love to give.
Ideal Home
Cody would thrive in a home that feels peaceful and predictable. A yard would be a lovely bonus for him to stretch those long legs, but it's not a requirement; what matters most is the energy of the home: calm, patient, and kind. He's the kind of dog who just needs a moment to exhale before he can fully feel at home and shine.
Ongoing Health
Cody is up to date on all vetting and has been microchipped.
