Klondike

Klondike is a wonderfully large boy, weighing in at 140 lbs, and born in December 2018. He is still learning the ropes of indoor living and appreciates a moment to process when he feels unsure. He often leans in for pets and reassurance, letting you know he's connected with you.

Ideal Home

Klondike would thrive in a quiet environment with a 6-foot fence where he can decompress and adjust to new sights, sounds, and people.

Ongoing Health

Klondike has been working with the Animal Behavior Wellness Center, and with their help and the right medication, he's now ready for his forever home! CHAAMP will remain available to support Klondike's new family.

Training & Support

Klondike, like all Malamutes, responds best to rewards-based training, which helps build his confidence and reinforce good behavior. We highly recommend reading the Shy Adopter Guide available at shelterdogplay.org/fosterandadopterresources to help you be the best support for dogs like Klondike. Spending time volunteering with Klondike can also help reduce his stress during his transition from kennel to home.
