Meet Ponderosa, or Pondsy as we affectionately call him! This handsome, nearly 2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is about 60 pounds of pure joy, wiggles, and good-boy energy. Pondsy has a glossy black coat and big, soulful brown eyes that will melt your heart. When he's excited to see his people, he does his signature "Pondsy Wiggle" and will happily flop over for belly rubs!
Pondsy loves to be part of the action, whether it's hiking, going for walks, or just napping in the car. He's a curious and playful pup who would be an amazing adventure buddy, but he's also a champion snuggle bug for downtime.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would do wonderfully in a home with a playful, medium-energy female dog who enjoys romping. Alternatively, he'd be content as the sole canine companion, soaking up all the attention. He's not a fan of cats, as they're a bit too tempting for him. He also does best in homes without small children, as they can be overwhelming. However, he adores teenagers (13+) and adults, forming deep bonds and becoming your shadow. An apartment (first floor) could work if he gets plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, but a yard would be a dream for him.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has undergone leg surgery and rehabilitation and is now stronger and happier than ever! His back leg has a unique charm but doesn't slow down his zoomies one bit.

Pondsy is a young dog with lots of energy and love to give. He's been working with trainers on staff to help him prepare for his future home.

Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. You'll be able to track your pet's journey in real-time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
