About URGENT! Joy needs a new home

Meet Joy… she quickly needs a new home. There's nothing more joyful than saving a life, and that's exactly what you'll be doing when you bring home Joy, a stunning 7-year-old German Shepherd. Joy was recently saved from a Southern CA shelter and her adopter was excited to bring her up to their northern California home. Very sadly, after her arrival, they determined that Joy is not the right match and they need to immediately rehome her as she’s not getting along with their dogs and they feel she’s best suited for a home seeking a sole canine companion. Everyone who meets Joy sings her praises. The vet staff, her transporter and adopter share that Joy is a sweet, loving girl. She’s potty trained, knows basic commands (sit, shake, stay, down) and takes treats gently. Joy wants to be loved on and wants to love her people. Her adopter describes her as a great dog, but she would be best as the only dog vs. sharing a home with other pets. Her loving spirit will bring warmth and happiness to her new family. Joy is an intelligent and obedient dog. With her gentle nature, she is sure to fit seamlessly into her new home and bring endless love and loyalty to her adopters.

Ideal Home

Joy would do best as the only canine companion in the home.

Ongoing Health

Joy is carrying excess weight and would benefit from a new home dedicated to providing gentle exercise and a lean diet to help her achieve a healthy weight. Joy is up to date on vaccines, had her rabies, microchipped, and is spayed.

Training & Support

Joy is potty trained and knows basic commands (sit, shake, stay, down). She takes treats gently.
