Meet Red, our longest resident and a true ray of sunshine! This handsome 4-year-old pittie mix is an energetic and affectionate boy with an infectious zest for life. Red and 15 other dogs were rescued from a rural Florida shelter after the devastating hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024. After 1.5 years, he's still patiently waiting for his forever home! He's been a joy to have in our care, loving playtime in the yard, romping with staff, and soaking up all the snuggles from volunteers. He's fully housetrained and a favorite for doggy day outs and fostering. Red is happy 24/7 and guaranteed to put a smile on your face! He tends to prefer female dogs and people, but with slow and proper introductions, he can become friends with all. To help this sweet boy find his forever family, his adoption fee has been waived! Red is an easygoing, lovable goofball who will shower his family with a lifetime of love. We promised Red that the rest of his life would be the best of his life. Could that be with you?

Transporation

Red is located in South Carolina and is transported to the Northeast weekly. Applicants not located along the East Coast should be willing to travel to pick up their pet. Local or virtual meet-and-greets are available with an application on file.
