Sentry is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing around 40 pounds and expected to be a large dog when fully grown. His mom, Wanda, weighed about 55 pounds. He was rescued with his litter and mother from a rural dumping area and has since been in a loving foster home. Sentry is a happy, affectionate, and playful pup who loves cuddles, playing with his siblings, and going for walks. He enjoys the company of people and other dogs, and has done well with children. He is potty trained and continues to learn about the world with confidence. Sentry is outgoing, friendly, and always eager to make new friends. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience, and is very eager to learn.
Ideal Home
Sentry is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature into an exceptional adult dog. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Sentry, as he thrives with canine role models. If you don't currently have a dog, we'd love to hear your plan for continued socialization. We also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time, as he will benefit from regular attention and care.
