Meet Ponderosa, or "Pondsy" as we affectionately call him! This handsome, almost 2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is approximately 60 pounds of pure sunshine, goofy charm, and the most wonderfully enthusiastic "goodest boy" energy you could imagine. Pondsy has a glossy black coat and big, warm brown eyes that will melt your heart. When he sees his favorite people, get ready for the signature "Pondsy Wiggle," a furiously wagging tail, and an immediate request for belly rubs – it's his specialty!
Pondsy makes every day an adventure. He's a happy companion for hikes, walks, or even just car naps, as long as he's with his people. He's still a playful pup at heart – curious, silly, and always up for some fun. He'd be an amazing hiking buddy, but he also transforms into a champion snuggle bug once the day's adventures are done.
Ideal Home
Pondsy thrives in a home without cats, as they are far too interesting to him. He can also be a bit overwhelmed by small children, so a home with teenagers (13+) and adults would be ideal. He's a big fan of other dogs and would do wonderfully with a playful, medium-energy female dog to romp with. However, he would also be perfectly content as your one and only furry companion, soaking up all the attention. He could adapt to apartment living (first floor preferred) if he receives plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, but a yard would be a wonderful bonus for him.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy is a resilient pup who has undergone leg surgery and excelled in physical therapy. While his back leg has a bit of unique character now, it absolutely does not slow him down! He still loves to run, play, and zoom with the best of them.
Training & Support
Pondsy is a deeply loyal dog who bonds strongly with his humans and will follow you around like your biggest fan. He's already working on his confidence and well-roundedness with our on-site trainers, and we provide detailed behavioral assessments and plans to help him settle into his new home.

- You will have the opportunity to meet your pet through a video call before adoption finalization.
- The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, deworming, flea and heartworm prevention, heartworm test/treatment if needed), spay/neuter, microchip with free lifetime registration, a Martingale collar, health certificate for travel, and transportation costs*.
- A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.
- Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
Transportation

Drop-off locations are available in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You can track your pet's journey in real time and receive photo updates.
