Camila and Regina

Meet Camila and Regina, a bonded pair of sweet Shih Tzu girls ready to find their forever home together! Camila is a charming 1-year-old, weighing around 8.6 lbs, with a beautiful white coat and dark brown markings. Her younger sister, Regina, is 10 months old and weighs about 8.2 lbs, with a similar white coat and light brown accents. These girls are incredibly affectionate, social, and love nothing more than cuddles and attention from their favorite people. They walk well on a leash, are comfortable in crates, and travel like little pros. They also get along wonderfully with other dogs and are very welcoming to new people. Camila and Regina were found wandering together in Saltillo, Mexico, and after a vet check and care at our shelter, they are now eagerly waiting for a family to cherish them.

Ideal Home

Camila and Regina would thrive in an active family with a fenced backyard who enjoys outdoor activities. They need a family with a genuine intention to rescue, understanding the needs of street animals and willing to provide protection and education. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly preferred, or a commitment to hiring a trainer. A high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential, as they are not yet house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Camila and Regina have received a comprehensive health protocol, including spay/neuter, DHPPI and Rabies vaccinations, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX test, a negative heartworm test, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventatives. They also have health certificates and vaccination booklets.

Training & Support

Please be aware that Camila and Regina are not house-trained. As rescued dogs, they may require an adjustment period to build trust and adapt to a new environment. Patience, understanding, and establishing a routine are crucial for their successful integration into your home.

Application Details:

• Applications begin by contacting us through Wags.
• You will be asked to submit photos and videos of your home to ensure it's a safe environment.
• If your application is a match, we will schedule a call or video chat to introduce you to the pets and conduct a virtual home tour.
• We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
• Upon approval, you will sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover their veterinary care, spay/neuter, vaccines, microchip, and food.

Transporation

Camila and Regina are currently fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, but are available for adoption on the East Coast. They will travel to your door via our scheduled transport service. This service organizes 3-4 trips per year with a contracted transport company that collects adopted pets and delivers them across the border into Texas. For Canadian adoptions, pets are delivered to the US-Canada border. You will receive real-time updates throughout their journey in a private Facebook Messenger group. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers this door-to-door delivery.
