Winston is a 7-year-old Miniature Schnauzer mix with a heart of gold, who was rescued from a shelter just before he was going to be euthanized. He's a special boy who needs a little extra help to live his best life. Winston has megaesophagus, which means his esophagus is enlarged, and he can have trouble swallowing. To help him eat and drink comfortably, he needs to use a specially made Bailey Chair and his water needs to be thickened. He also takes Sildenafil (Viagra) about an hour before meals to help his food pass smoothly. Winston is also susceptible to aspiration pneumonia, so he needs his teeth brushed daily to keep him healthy. Despite these challenges, Winston is a friendly boy who deserves all the love and care in the world.

Ideal Home

Winston requires a home that can accommodate his special needs, including the use of a Bailey Chair for feeding and drinking. A patient and loving environment where he can receive consistent daily care, including teeth brushing, would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Winston has megaesophagus, which requires special feeding methods and medication (Sildenafil) to aid digestion. He is also prone to aspiration pneumonia and requires daily dental care to prevent it. He recently recovered from aspiration pneumonia following a dental and neuter procedure.
