Penguin is a sweet, gentle soul who is still learning that the world isn't such a scary place. While he can be shy and unsure when faced with unfamiliar people, places, or situations, he warms up quickly and absolutely loves his people once he feels safe. He's the kind of dog who will look to you for reassurance and, with a little encouragement, happily show off his affectionate and friendly side. Despite his reserved nature, Penguin is always happy to see the people he knows and trusts. He's a quiet boy with a kind heart and a gentle demeanor that makes him easy to love.
Ideal Home
Penguin would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard and a confident, patient, and gentle adopter. He would do best without young children and needs someone committed to helping him build confidence through positive experiences.

Training & Support
Penguin is a bit of a blank slate when it comes to other dogs. He seems interested in making friends and often offers adorable play bows, but when things get exciting, his current strategy is usually to run away. He can be a bit of a chaser at times, but he's patient, gentle, and very teachable. With proper guidance and positive experiences, we believe he'll continue building his confidence and learning valuable dog social skills. Cats don't seem to be a major concern for Penguin; he notices them but generally finds other things more interesting. Penguin's biggest challenge is confidence. New experiences can make him nervous, and he'll need an adopter who understands that trust and confidence take time to build.
