Meet Gottfried!

At approximately 4 years old and 66 pounds, Gottfried is a stunning black German Shepherd with a heart as beautiful as his looks. He was found abandoned and tied to a railing before being brought to ACCT Philly. Thankfully, he was later transferred to our rescue, where he's proven to be nothing short of an amazing dog. Gottfried is the definition of a "wiggle butt." The moment he sees a familiar face, his whole body starts moving with excitement. With his soft, soulful eyes, loose body language, and happy tail wags, he has a way of making everyone feel special. This boy absolutely loves people and has quickly become a favorite among volunteers. Not only is he handsome and friendly, but he's smart too. Gottfried already knows "sit" and is highly food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. He participated in playgroups at ACCT Philly and did wonderfully with other dogs, showing off his social skills with loose, friendly greetings. Since joining our rescue, he has continued to be the very best boy.

Ideal Home

Gottfried is active, intelligent, and eager to be involved in whatever his people are doing. He would do best with a family, ideally with children 13 and older, that appreciates the energy and loyalty of the breed and is willing to continue his training.

Ongoing Health

Gottfried will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested.

Training & Support

Gottfried is still working on his leash manners and can get excited at times, but with consistency and positive reinforcement, he'll continue to thrive. He is highly food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding.
