Meet Daisy! This precious hound mix girl is definitely a keeper! Daisy and her daughter Josie were surrendered to an open-intake, high-kill shelter once they were no longer useful to their owners. They both nearly lost their lives before we rescued them and brought them to the safety of our no-kill shelter. Despite her harsh treatment, Daisy is as sweet as they come. She has a pretty face filled with warm brown eyes and a laughing smile. She wags and wiggles so hard whenever she sees our staff and volunteers. She loves people and would do well with kids. Daisy is friendly and outgoing, making our days brighter with her sheer force of good energy and hopeful vibes. She wants to be loved and to give love to whomever she sees. She gives hugs that melt your soul and will put her face in your hand for some scratches and pets. She does great with other dogs, but she prefers a gentle introduction and approach until she can assess the other dog’s intentions, which is completely understandable given how her owners used and abused her for breeding.
Ideal Home
A fenced yard will be a must for Daisy, as she would love to have a safe place to run and sun.
Ongoing Health
No ongoing health concerns noted.
Training & Support
Daisy is house-trained and is a good leash walker, though she can be a little pull-y when she gets excited. Some of this behavior will likely change once she is in a home and has some consistency in her life, as she is making up for lost time after being neglected.
