Malouk

Meet Malouk! This gentle giant is a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a soul ready for quiet companionship. Malouk came to us after a heartbreaking situation, and after a year where he wasn't receiving the care he deserved, he's now ready to find his forever home. Despite being blind, Malouk navigates his world with incredible resilience and still finds joy in walks, naps, and, of course, treats! He occasionally shows off a playful spark, reminding us of his enduring spirit.

Ideal Home

Malouk would thrive in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel safe and settled. He's happy to be the only pet, but he can also do well with calm, respectful dogs and cats who understand his need for gentle interaction. He's wonderfully friendly with people and has a soft spot for children, making him a sweet presence in the right family.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind, which can sometimes lead to anxiety. He is currently doing well with calming medication and benefits greatly from a consistent environment.

Training & Support

While Malouk is potty trained, he may mark indoors. Belly bands have been a simple and effective solution. He will also benefit from continued leash training, as he can pull when excited or uncertain. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while alone.
