Meet Benson, a sweet and quiet gentleman who has overcome quite a bit! After a difficult start in Texas where he was hit by a car and left to fend for himself, Benson had a leg amputation and has since learned that humans can be wonderful sources of treats and comfort. He's now ready to find his peaceful retirement home! Benson is a wonderful companion who gets along with other dogs and is completely indifferent to cats. He's already mastered potty training, rides beautifully in the car, and has been a perfect patient during all vet visits and handling.
Benson is not the type of dog who needs to be the center of attention. True to his Great Pyrenees heritage, he's more of an observer, content to hang out in the same room, keeping an eye on things, and enjoying your presence without demanding constant interaction. He's looking for a calm and low-traffic home environment. We recommend a home with children over 12 who understand and respect a dog's boundaries. Loud or boisterous children might be overwhelming for him. Benson is a tripod, so a home with minimal stairs would be ideal for his long-term comfort, though he navigates his world with ease. He's a lower-energy guy who prefers a gentle pace of life over strenuous adventures. Benson isn't seeking excitement; he's dreaming of peace and a soft place to rest.
Benson is a tripod, so a home with minimal stairs is preferred to help keep him comfortable long term.
We do not have any specific health concerns to report for Benson at this time.
Benson is generally a well-behaved boy, but as with any dog transitioning to a new home, patience and understanding are key. He's looking for a calm environment where he can continue to feel secure.
