Jack Jolly

Jack Jolly is a charming, approximately 10-pound dog with a birthdate around October 22, 2012. He arrived at Joyful Rescue with his friend Little Bear after their owner was evicted. Life hadn't been easy for Jack; he suffered from severe flea dermatitis and a secondary bacterial infection, compounded by a deeply embedded collar that caused a serious wound. Despite these hardships, Jack has a surprisingly resilient and happy spirit. He's a bit of a character, often observed watching the other dogs play at the rescue from his yard. We affectionately called him "neighbor dog" and he'd trot home when we'd call him. Jack is a beloved member of our sanctuary, bringing smiles with his adorable antics, but his journey has left him with specific needs.

Ideal Home

Jack is a Joyful Sanctuary dog and will live out his days here. Due to his history and current temperament, a typical home environment would not be suitable and could pose risks to humans.

Ongoing Health

Jack has healed well from his past injuries, including the removal of his embedded collar and neutering. He is now healthy and happy.

Training & Support

Jack can be a sweet boy, but he has a bite history and can be aggressive towards other dogs. He is only comfortable with one specific person at the rescue, and only allows physical affection when he initiates it and is in a relaxed state. Attempting to pet him when he isn't soliciting attention or if another dog approaches can result in a bite. He requires careful handling and understanding.
