About TAZ

Hello friends! My name is Taz, and I'm a sweet, intelligent, and very deserving Terrier/Lab mix boy who is approximately 1.5 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. I was born at a rescue facility just one day after my mother was rescued from an abandoned home. All seven of my siblings have found their forever homes, but I've been waiting over a year for my turn. I'm a bit shy when meeting new people, but once I get comfortable, I reveal a super funny personality and a whole lot of love! I'm an active boy who enjoys outdoor adventures and play sessions. I've even had some fun with agility training, which really challenges my brain and body. I'm very treat-motivated and smart, so I'd love an active family who wants to explore the outdoors or try some obedience or agility training with me. After a good exercise session, I transform into a cuddly pup who adores affection and snuggles. If you're an active hooman who also enjoys couch cuddles, I'm your guy!

Ideal Home

I thrive with a good balance of exercise time and nap time. I would love an active family who will take me on outdoor adventures and/or would like to try out some obedience or agility training with me! I'm also great with kids and medium/large dogs, but I am not a good fit for small dogs due to a prey drive. I also do not get along with cats.

Ongoing Health

I have been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I have tested negative for heartworm after treatment. I will be tested for distemper and parvo before traveling. Please note that it is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work after adoption, and these costs are the adopter's responsibility.

Training & Support

I'm a work in progress when it comes to leash skills, crate training, and house training, but with frequent potty breaks, positive reinforcement, and a consistent routine, I'm sure to catch on quickly! I may play nip or bounce/jump up on people, especially when excited or shy, so continued training is encouraged.
