Meet Penny! This sweet, gentle, and affectionate girl adores her people and is as loyal and loving as they come, making her a wonderful best friend and cuddly companion. Penny is happiest spending time with her family but is also perfectly content to navigate her day independently, often found taking long snoozes on the couch. A few months ago, Penny lost her family due to a housing crisis, and it's clear she was deeply loved. She is now eager to give and receive that love for keeps.

Training & Support

Penny is a smart girl eager to please and picks up training quickly. She already knows sit, stay, paw, down, and crate, and even understands some commands in Spanish! She walks well on leash but can become alert if she sees another dog. Penny feels safest when her walker keeps her at a distance from other dogs and will offer cues if she's feeling worried, though she can easily be redirected. Penny is 100% housebroken and is good with a flexible potty schedule. She adores her crate and is happy to sleep in it overnight and when home alone. Penny is extremely friendly with strangers she meets outdoors, but can take some time to warm up to new people inside the home. She benefits from slow and structured indoor introductions, with space to disengage if she's feeling fearful.
