Bullseye is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued with his mother and littermates from a rural dumping area outside of Houston. Bullseye is the biggest but also the most introverted of his litter, often observing before joining in the fun. He enjoys dinnertime, belly rubs, and snuggling, and his calm presence is instantly endearing. He’s a loyal companion with a soft heart and an easygoing personality. Bullseye is described as both playful and reserved, enjoying romping with his siblings but also happy to cuddle or simply be near his people. He is potty-trained, though a few accidents may occur as he adjusts to a new home. He has been crate-trained and is gaining confidence with leash walking and basic obedience.
Ideal Home
Bullseye would thrive in a home that can provide ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice to help him mature into an exceptional adult dog. We prefer homes that already have another friendly, well-mannered dog to help mentor and guide Bullseye, as socialization with a resident dog is highly valued. Homes without another dog will need to present a solid plan for continued socialization, including structured training classes, supervised daycare, and regular playdates. Because Bullseye is still a young dog, we also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned in the description.
Training & Support
Bullseye is potty-trained, but expect a few accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He has been crate-trained and is continuing to build confidence with leash walking and basic obedience. He needs ongoing socialization, positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice.
