Maiya

Hi there! I'm Maiya, a charming Boxer and Bulldog mix who weighs about 48 lbs. My estimated birthday is March 13, 2024. I have a little secret... I've spent so much of my life taking care of everyone else that I almost forgot what it feels like to be cared for myself. Not too long ago, I was living life as a stray, wondering where my next meal would come from and if anyone would ever notice me. Then the amazing people at Sunnyside Street Dogs changed everything. They showed me that full bellies, soft beds, kind hands, and love are real. Turns out... I like this being spoiled thing. I also became the proud mama of three beautiful puppies. I loved them with all my heart, and now they've all found their forever families. I'm so happy for them... but I can't help hoping it's finally my turn. Everyone tells me I'm one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet; very gentle and easygoing, especially with little ones. One of the rescue moms introduced her one-year-old kiddo to me and it was wonderful – we loved each other and shared similar curiosity and gentleness. She even laughed when I tickled her ear with kisses! I love being around people, soaking up affection, and going for walks. Speaking of walks... I have wonderful leash manners, so whether we're exploring the neighborhood or taking a stroll through the park, I'll happily be right by your side - anytime, day or night. I'm not looking for anything fancy. Just a family to love, a cozy place to rest my head, and someone who will remind me every day that my stray days are behind me forever. I've spent my whole life giving love. I'd love for someone to choose me. Could that someone be you?

Ideal Home

Maiya would love a family to adore and a cozy place to rest her head. She is gentle and easygoing, especially with little ones, and her curiosity and gentleness make her a wonderful companion for children.

Maiya is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed.

Training & Support

Maiya is kennel and potty trained. She has wonderful leash manners.

Transportation

Maiya is located in Houston, TX. Transport is included in the adoption fee and may go to various pickup locations, including nearby towns or states. We coordinate with multiple transport services that operate weekly to Eastern states and bi-weekly or monthly to Western states from Texas. These are ground transports using third-party vehicles converted for dog transport. Adopters can track the van using the Life360 app and receive updates from transport along the way. Facebook chats are also available for updates. Please be able to use one of these services if you wish to follow your adopted dog on transport.
