Pippy the Pirate;)

Pippy is a sweet, approximately 10-year-old Chihuahua who arrived to us in a bit of a rough state. She was found in a shelter, scared and overweight at 18lbs. To improve her comfort, her painful, blind eye was removed, and she's healing wonderfully. She's also undergone dental work and now has only her bottom teeth remaining. While she can be a bit snarky with strangers and prefers to be left undisturbed when resting, she's warming up each day and her personality is shining through! She gets along well with other mellow small dogs and seems to understand her own kind.

Ideal Home

Pippy would do best in a home that understands Chihuahua personalities and customs. She prefers a quiet environment where she won't be bothered when she's resting.

Ongoing Health

Pippy is recovering from eye removal surgery to treat glaucoma and dry eye, and dental work. She is currently on a diet to help her reach a healthier weight of around 12lbs. She currently weighs 16lbs and gets out of breath easily with even short walks.

Training & Support

Pippy can be snarky with strangers and doesn't like to be bothered when she's comfortable. Patience and understanding of her "chi culture" will be key to helping her continue to thrive.

Pippy is currently in Northern NJ. All dogs are in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption.
