Meet Baxter! This 1-year-old sweetheart is about 32 pounds of pure love, with soulful eyes that will melt your heart. Baxter is a house-trained and crate-trained boy who sleeps soundly through the night. He's a medium-to-high energy pup who thrives on routine, which helps him feel secure and confident. He walks nicely on leash, enjoys meeting new people and other dogs, and already knows "sit" and "come." He's still getting the hang of car rides and meeting new people outside the home, but with consistency and patience, he's making great progress!

Ideal Home

Baxter needs a home with a 5-foot fenced yard and a playful canine companion to help him burn off energy. A doggy playmate is a must for this social, fun-loving boy!

Ongoing Health

Baxter is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and is microchipped. He is also treated for heartworm.

Training & Support

Baxter knows "sit" and "come," and he is house and crate trained. He's still working on car rides and meeting new people outside the home, and will benefit from continued consistency and patience.

• The adoption fee is $350 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and heartworm treatment.
• We conduct home visits as part of the adoption process.
• We are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
