Sophie is a beautiful 6-year-old, 72 lb German Shepherd with a soft heart and a gentle spirit. She’s a timid girl who prefers calm introductions and quiet moments, especially when meeting new people. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality starts to shine through — and treats definitely help. She loves them and takes them with the politest, softest little nibble.

Sophie is looking for a peaceful home where she can relax and feel secure. She thrives in environments without chaos or constant activity, and for that reason, we feel she would do best in a home without young children. She’s the kind of dog who blossoms with patience, routine, and a comforting presence by her side.

Ongoing Health

Sophie is considered special needs because she tested heartworm positive on intake and is currently undergoing treatment. She will need a calm, low-key environment to take her through the remainder of her treatment regimen.
