August

August is a gorgeous 9-year-old, 56 lb Belgian Malinois mix who has settled into her foster home and is pretty much perfect! She's an absolute sweetheart and such a fun and silly girl who loves toys, going for walks, ear and butt scratches, napping on the couch, yummy treats, and playing fetch. August is a little shadow and likes to know what her foster mom is up to, but she also does well left uncrated when home alone and usually just naps. She does good in the car and likes to stick her nose out the window. Every morning, she wakes up ready to play with her toys and go for a long walk. She has a good amount of energy and loves investigating all the smells on her walks, often carrying a toy. August is food-motivated and knows a few tricks like sit, down, and shake, and is working on more. She's also a smart, confident, and adventurous pup who even went stand-up paddleboarding!

Ideal Home

August would thrive in a home where she can be part of the family's daily activities. She enjoys playtime and walks.

Ongoing Health

August has age-related degenerative changes in her spine which causes incontinence. She is very good about wearing a diaper, which is easy to manage. She will need to be on lifelong medication to control any discomfort. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

August knows basic commands like sit, down, and shake and is working on more. She is food-motivated, which will be helpful in her continued training.
