Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, neutered male, hound/retriever mix weighing 56 pounds. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to snuggle and is always happy to be by your side. Comet was rescued from the streets and saved from the county shelter in San Antonio, Texas. He has a fun-loving personality and enjoys a good zoomie session! He's a resilient and adaptable dog who is eager to find his forever family.

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home with another dog where he can have a sibling to play and snuggle with. He has also done well with indoor cats and children, but due to his herding instinct, we recommend a home with children aged 10 years or older who can understand and respect animal behavior cues. Comet is a bit wary of men and will need a patient and consistent adopter to help him build his confidence.

Comet is a healthy boy who has been neutered and is up-to-date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his kennel without complaint and doesn't pull on the leash. He hasn't had any accidents in the house and will let you know when he needs to go potty. While he doesn't seem to have separation anxiety, he does enjoy tasting things he shouldn't, so he'll need to be crated when unsupervised. Comet's favorite thing is to please, making him easy to train with positive reinforcement.

Transportation

Comet is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. He can be transported out of state once an approved adopter is lined up. Transports run every few weeks, and he will be placed on the next available transport once approved.
