Toby is a 6-month-old, 26-pound Carolina-Corgi mix with a heart as big as his adorable ears. He was abandoned at a high-kill shelter at just 4 months old, and while his mom was quickly adopted, Toby was left behind, scared and alone. Thankfully, a loving foster stepped in and gave him the chance he deserved. Initially terrified of the outside world, Toby found comfort in his foster sisters. By watching them, he slowly began to follow their lead and now happily goes outside on leash, loves playing with his foster sisters, and enjoys sunbathing. Toby is shy when meeting new people and needs time to decompress in new environments, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a loyal, calm, gentle, and sweet companion who is non-confrontational and has wonderful manners around other animals. He loves to hang out and lay on bookshelves, under desks, or right by his foster sister. Toby currently lives with six dogs and one cat and gets along beautifully with all of them. He thrives in the company of other pets and looks to them for reassurance and confidence. He is a smart puppy and a quick learner, and while he is fine around children, he would do best in a quieter home without young kids. A patient family who gives him kindness and time will be rewarded with unwavering loyalty and a truly special bond. Toby is puppy pad trained and is making progress with his confidence around outdoor noises and new environments.
