About Polly
Meet Polly, a delightful 38lb Cattle Dog Retriever mix who embodies the spirit of a perpetual puppy with the sweetest disposition. She's already spayed, vaccinated, and up-to-date on all her preventatives, making her ready to embark on her journey to a loving forever home. Polly has a wonderfully gentle and adaptable nature, content to be involved in whatever her humans are up to.
Polly's heart is truly that of a puppy! She adores her toys, enjoys the company of other dogs, and possesses a bouncy, joyful energy perfect for playtime. If another canine friend invites her to play, Polly is always eager to join the fun. She's also been around children aged 6 and older and has shown herself to be a good companion. We don't have any history regarding her interactions with cats.
Despite her enthusiasm for play, Polly is generally a low-energy dog. She's just as content to relax and snuggle as she is to engage in a game of fetch. She is affectionate, loves to cuddle, and enjoys being close to her people. While she can be a bit shy when first meeting new individuals, she quickly warms up once she feels safe and secure.
Polly has excellent house manners and is both house-trained and crate-trained for up to six hours. She travels well in the car and has no issues with resource guarding or food aggression. She is currently working on her leash manners and may pull occasionally, but given her smaller size, she is easily managed as she continues to learn.
Like many young dogs, Polly is still learning the ropes of home life and would benefit from a patient adopter who can provide ongoing guidance. Because she can sometimes get into things when unsupervised, she should be crated when left alone. With consistency and a predictable routine, she will undoubtedly continue to blossom.
Overall, Polly is a truly wonderful dog who will thrive in almost any home. Whether it's a family, a couple, or someone seeking a loyal companion, Polly has an abundance of love to give. With a little time to adjust to a new routine, she will undoubtedly become a devoted and cherished best friend.
