Some dogs run to you. Lily watches you first. She stands back quietly, takes you in, and tries to decide if you are someone safe. Someone worth trusting. Someone who is going to stay. She has not always had the answer to that question go her way -- but she has never stopped hoping it will. That kind of quiet hope in a dog will absolutely undo you if you let it. Lily is a two-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier with a gentle spirit, the sweetest soul, and a heart full of love, she has not quite figured out how to give away yet. She is just waiting for the right person to make it safe enough to try.

Lily is soft. She is still. She is the kind of dog who does not fill a room with noise but fills it with something better -- a calm, tender presence that makes you slow down and pay attention. She is figuring out the world at her own pace and every small step forward she takes is genuinely beautiful to witness. The people here have watched her open up little by little and we can tell you with complete certainty -- what is on the other side of that trust is something truly special. Lily enjoys the simple and the peaceful -- a soft bed, a quiet yard, a calm, unhurried day. She loves exploring at her own pace without pressure or chaos. A gentle walk, a sunny spot to rest, a familiar routine -- these are the things that make Lily feel alive and happy. She does not need constant activity -- she needs consistency and safety and those two things will bring out her best every time. Watch her confidence grow day by day and you will understand why patience is always worth it. Once Lily trusts you she gives you everything -- fully, completely, and without reservation. She forms deep meaningful bonds that do not waver -- her loyalty is the kind that lasts a lifetime. She is incredibly affectionate with her person once she feels secure -- gentle, close, and quietly devoted. Her love is not loud -- but it is unshakeable and it is worth every single moment of patience it takes to earn it. Her perfect day includes a slow gentle morning walk with no rush and no pressure, time in a peaceful yard exploring at her own pace, a long nap on the softest bed she can find, and an evening curled up beside her person -- calm, safe, trusting, and finally exactly where she belongs.

Ideal Home

Lily will do best as the only pet in a calm one person or adult only home where she can feel fully safe and completely understood. She needs consistency and safety to bring out her best.

Lily is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed.

Training & Support

Lily is still learning to trust and needs patience and consistency to build her confidence.

Application Details:

• Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
• Adopter must be 18 years of age or older with a valid government issued photo ID.
• A $200 adoption fee covers spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchip, deworming, heartworm test and prevention, a starter bag of food, and coupons.
• Cash, check, money orders, and debit/credit cards are accepted (card transactions incur a processing fee).
• For pets not yet spayed or neutered at adoption, a signed Spay and Neuter Agreement and a $100 refundable cash deposit are required.

Lily is located at The Haven. Transport may be available to approved adopters.
