Groot

Groot is a charming and funny 45-pound bundle of energy, who has appointed himself the Head of the Welcome Committee and Assistant Manager of your household. He approaches life with a delightful seriousness, convinced he has important jobs to do, from supervising breakfast preparations to escorting you on mail checks. This long-legged goober is a fantastic mix of backyard explorer, quality control specialist, and morale officer, always ready to lend a paw or an ear. His enormous ears are legendary, capable of detecting treat bag rustles from miles away, and he often reacts to distant sounds with a look that says, "Don't worry, I've got this."

Outside is Groot's favorite office, where he enthusiastically patrols the yard, sniffs every inch, and ensures neighborhood regulations are followed. He's a master of the sudden zoomies, especially when another dog gets the zoomies first, turning his professional demeanor into pure, unadulterated joy. His greatest passion, however, is meeting other dogs. He greets them with the enthusiasm of someone reuniting with their long-lost best friend, forging instant connections and making plans for shared adventures. We believe Groot would absolutely thrive in a home with another playful canine companion, someone to share wrestling matches, explorations, and cozy naps with.

Groot is a dog of impeccable manners, fully house-trained and crate-trained. He knows commands such as sit, lay down, give paw, "go eat," "go outside," and "go for a walk." He's a quick learner who responds wonderfully to praise and genuinely aims to please. A particularly heartwarming daily ritual involves him gently placing a favorite toy in your lap, not for any specific reason, but simply because he thought you should have it. He's sweet without being overly attached, playful without being chaotic, and funny in his own unique, unaware way. Groot is one of those truly good dogs who subtly weaves himself into the fabric of your life, transforming from your assistant manager into the reason you smile when you get home, the heartbeat of your home, and a best friend you can't imagine living without.

Ideal Home

Groot would love a home with another playful dog to share his adventures and companionship. For the best fit, we recommend a home with children aged 10 and older.

Training & Support

Groot is fully house-trained, crate-trained, and knows several commands. He is eager to please and learns quickly with positive reinforcement.

Transporation

Groot is currently being fostered in MA. He can be transported to his forever home, with transports departing weekly.
