About Ariel

Hi, I'm Ariel! I was born in October 2025, and I'm a sweet but shy girl who's been working hard on building my confidence. I was the most fearful of my litter of 10, and when I arrived in New York, I was still very wary of people and hands. My foster mom has been incredibly patient, and I'm learning to trust. I used to shy away from touch, but now I'll come over for nose nudges and even give gentle fingertip kisses! I love being in the kitchen when food is involved, and I'm much more relaxed around my foster mom, even looking her in the eye and giving tail wags. It's a journey, but I'm so happy to be acting like a dog in a home and not carrying that tense energy anymore. I'm about 40 pounds and still have a ways to go to feel completely secure, but I'm eager to continue learning that people are good with the right support.

Ideal Home

I need an all-adult home with a calm and quiet environment. Too much commotion or children would be overwhelming for me. I absolutely must have a secure, fenced-in yard that is at least 6 feet high and not off the ground, as I have a tendency to dig. I am a pack dog at heart and will need another dog to be my emotional support pal. I will likely always carry some insecurity, and I'm happy to be a homebody, especially in the beginning.

Ongoing Health

I am healthy and have no known health conditions.

Training & Support

I am still working on leash manners and can become anxious when the leash is on. My foster mom has prioritized building my trust over leash training. I will likely always have some shy tendencies, but with patience and understanding, I know I can continue to blossom.
