Gemma - in Maine

Gemma is an estimated 9-month-old, 27 lb bundle of adorable mixed-breed fun, possibly with some Blue Heeler in her lineage! She arrived a bit shy and overweight but has slimmed down and blossomed with regular exercise and playtime. Gemma is a devoted companion who thrives on the reassurance of her humans. She's a champion snuggler once she feels comfortable and will happily sit by your side or even in your lap! She truly comes alive around other friendly dogs and would do best in a home with at least one canine friend.

Ideal Home

Gemma can be shy in new situations and may be a bit overwhelmed by very young children. She would likely do best in a home with older, respectful children who enjoy playing ball. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but her biggest desire is to be with her people.

Ongoing Health

Gemma arrived a bit overweight but has since slimmed down with exercise. No other health concerns were noted.

Training & Support

Gemma's southern fosters noted some nervous habits like digging and stealing clothes/shoes, but these have not been observed since she's been receiving regular exercise and stimulation. She crates well and is already working on building confidence. A home with another dog will greatly help her adjust and thrive.

Gemma is currently in a foster home in Maine. Our dogs are cared for in foster homes throughout New England, and you will meet Gemma in her foster home.
