Meet Mercy! She's a lovely young lady who is currently enrolled in our P.A.C.K. Program. This 9-week intensive program focuses on obedience, agility, and handling, with a wonderful inmate trainer. Mercy is excelling and is almost ready to show off her new skills, which include 'sit', 'down', 'shake', and more! Graduates of this program thrive with consistent reinforcement of their learned behaviors, which helps make these skills permanent.
Mercy is still very much a puppy and has a way of charming everyone she meets. Once she gets to know you, she absolutely adores affection. She can be a little shy at first, but her sweet nature quickly shines through. She's also a pro at kenneling, which is fantastic! Because she's still young, she can get into a bit of mischief if left to her own devices.
She gets along wonderfully with other dogs. While she enjoys playing with them, she can be a bit overwhelmed by larger dogs and will let them know she needs a little space. She was a bit timid and submissive when she met cats, but we can reintroduce her to them once she graduates from her program. Mercy has also been doing very well with her house training and is expected to graduate and be ready to meet her new family towards the end of July.
Ideal Home
Mercy would love a home where she can continue to practice and reinforce her training. She gets along well with other dogs but can be overwhelmed by larger dogs, so a home with dogs that understand her cues would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Mercy is spayed and vaccinated.
Training & Support
Mercy is graduating from an obedience program and knows several commands. Ongoing reinforcement of her learned behaviors will be key to her continued success. She can be a bit mischievous when left alone due to her age.
