Mr. Buttons is a charming 18# boy, born around March 29, 2021, who was found living on the streets for at least six months. He was initially very fearful and displayed some fear aggression due to his experiences, but he has blossomed into a confident and loving companion. He gets along well with other foster dogs and should be fine with most dogs with proper introductions. Mr. Buttons is crate trained and nearly house-trained, and it's been a joy to watch his personality emerge. He is a quiet dog who enjoys car rides, playing fetch, and is a perfect snuggler, often giving gentle "kissies" when happy. While his breed is a mystery, he has black and tan markings and a body size similar to a Min Pin, with a rounder head, leading to speculation of a Min Pin/Pug mix or perhaps a Puggle.
Ideal Home
Mr. Buttons would do best in an adult-only home with individuals experienced with rescue dogs. He thrives with patience, love, and positive reinforcement training. He might not be ready for loud, busy social settings but is doing well in a quiet neighborhood.
Ongoing Health
Mr. Buttons is up-to-date on vaccinations, deworming, flea treatment, and is neutered. He is microchipped with lifetime registration and was heartworm negative as of May 2025, and is on monthly heartworm prevention. He has only one eye and requires gentle handling, especially on his "blind side."
Training & Support
Mr. Buttons is mostly house-trained and crate-trained. He startles at loud noises like delivery and garbage trucks but has shown resilience and is non-reactive to other dogs and people on walks, even when they are barking. He is good on leash and would be suitable for apartment or condo living.
