Zeus McGoose is a handsome approximately 2-year-old boy who weighs around 28 lbs, and we believe he may be a Cocker Spaniel mix. His most striking features are his long, floppy ears, beautiful golden-red coat, adorable freckles, and expressive forehead wrinkles. He’s the kind of dog who makes everyone stop and stare, and his personality is just as captivating as his looks! Zeus is sweet, fun, and easygoing, striking a perfect balance between playful and affectionate. He enjoys his toys, especially squeaky ones, and is happy to simply be part of whatever you're doing, whether that's lounging in the sun or hanging out with his favorite people.
Ideal Home
Zeus would be happiest in a home with a backyard where he can play with his toys, zoom around, and enjoy sunbaths. He has done wonderfully with small dogs in his foster home and enjoys having buddies to play with in the yard. We are happy to arrange a meet-and-greet with a dog that has a similar temperament to yours to ensure a good fit. While we haven't seen him with children yet, we believe he has great potential to be an incredible family dog, especially for a family with older children who would love a goofy, toy-loving companion.
Ongoing Health
Zeus is a healthy boy who has been fully vetted, including his DAPP vaccination with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also been tested for heartworm.
Training & Support
Zeus is a smart cookie who already knows how to sit and takes treats with a very gentle mouth. He is eager to please, making him a joy to train. He is crate trained and does wonderfully in his crate, and he is also doing very well with potty training, with accidents being very rare.

Transportation
Zeus is currently fostered in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue-run USDA-certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time and receive photo updates. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
