Duncan just wants to make you cuddle and hug him all the time! He has an air of calmness and grounded energy that will soothe your soul. For the most part, he’s a mellow, loving dog who enjoys being hugged and will ask for an occasional belly rub. He’s a companion who just wants to hang out with you. You'll find yourself wanting to hang out with him too; he's comforting and chill. Duncan can also be active, fun, and playfully engaging when prompted, and he maintains a good energy level. He's good on a leash but can pull when he's on a mission. Even with his stout build, he's mindful and attentive, never putting too much pressure when jumping to give you a hug. This wonderful dog was tragically and confusingly found dumped in the Victorville desert, a known dumping area, along with a terrier partner. We couldn't pass him up when asked if we could help keep him out of the shelter. Duncan has had limited dog-to-dog exposure and has displayed a good demeanor. As he is not yet neutered, we limit prolonged exposure to other dogs to avoid potential reactivity, but initial observations suggest he is dog-friendly. We will conduct more testing down the road.
Ideal Home
Duncan would thrive in a home where he can receive plenty of affection and companionship.

Duncan is currently in his stray hold period. He will be neutered before adoption.
Training & Support
Duncan is crate trained and may be house-trained. He is good on a leash, though he can pull when excited. He is incredibly mindful and gentle when interacting with people.
