Hey y'all, I'm Chook, which means "chicken" in Australian! Isn't that a hoot? I'm a Bully Breed mix with a soft, rich red coat and the most wonderfully quirky ears. I'm not a huge guy, tipping the scales at around 42 pounds.
My life has been quite the adventure! I was rescued from a situation where a well-meaning bystander couldn't quite manage all the responsibilities that come with being a foster pawrent. Luckily, I landed with my current foster family, and guess what? They're professional dog trainers! How pawsome is that? They've been teaching me all sorts of cool tricks, like "sit," "down," and my personal favorite, "Place!" I'm also getting the hang of responding to directional cues on the leash.
When I first meet you, I can be a bit shy, but once I warm up, I'm a rootin', tootin' little bullet! I love to let my voice be heard and zoom around the backyard like a silly goose. I'd do well in a home with older teenagers, but I must, under no circumstances, be placed in a home with young children. I have a VERY mouthy play style when I'm having fun with my humans.
I'm also super social with other dogs! While I can be a tad pushy sometimes, I'm easily corrected, which means I'd absolutely love to join a home with canine companions. I haven't had the chance to meet any feline friends yet, though.
Ideal Home
A home with older teenagers and other dogs would be my dream! I need a family that understands my mouthy play style and can help me continue to grow.
Ongoing Health
I'm currently healthy and ready to find my forever family!
Training & Support
I'm already learning so much from my foster parents, including basic obedience commands and leash manners. I can be a bit mouthy during play, so continued guidance will be key to my success.
