Meet Roni — a 6-year-old, 53 lb Rhodesian Ridgeback mix with a heart full of love and a deep desire to be close to her people! Roni is the definition of a loyal companion. She adores her humans and hopes to find a family who is home more often than not, because being near her people is truly her happy place. She's convinced she's a 50 lb lap dog and will gladly curl up beside you (or on you!) whenever she gets the chance. She really thrives with a doggie companion too and hopes to have a canine friend in her future forever home!
Roni is house-trained, crate-trained, and has such great manners that she can be left alone without a crate. She has medium energy — the perfect blend of playful and cuddly — and enjoys her twice daily 1–2 mile walks, where she shines on the leash. She’ll need a fenced yard where she can safely run and play. She greets people warmly and interacts well with everyone, though she tends to be a bit of a “girl’s girl” and especially loves female energy. She does well with all ages of kids, and is very gentle with little ones. She’s been good with cats so far, though she may chase outdoor cats because she thinks they want to play. She’s met female dogs successfully and would likely do well with males too. Whether she’s your one and only or has a doggy buddy, she’ll thrive as long as she gets plenty of love and companionship. She also has some natural guard dog tendencies and will bark at people walking by — she takes her job of watching over her home seriously.
