About TEDDY

Teddy is a charming 3.5-year-old, 10-pound bundle of love, a delightful mix of Chihuahua, Yorkie, Bichon, and a few other breeds. He came to us as a matted mess, but after a much-needed grooming, his true handsome self has emerged! He'll need regular grooming to maintain his good looks. Teddy underwent successful cataract surgery on both eyes and is now enjoying clear vision after a short recovery period with eye medication. He's a true lap dog, eager to snuggle and be close to his people. While he generally gets along with other dogs, he prefers calmer companions and can become a bit grumpy with overly boisterous dogs in his face. He's also protective of his food and prefers not to share, so we believe he'd do best as an only dog or with a quiet, older canine friend. Teddy is mostly house-trained, walks well on a leash, and absolutely loves car rides. He's sure to be a wonderful companion for the right person.

Ideal Home

Teddy would thrive in a home without children under the age of 8. He's looking for experienced dog owners who can provide him with a calm and predictable environment. Given his food possessiveness, a home where he can be the sole canine or have a quiet, older companion would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Teddy has had successful cataract surgery on both eyes and is now fully recovered with great eyesight.

Training & Support

Teddy is mostly house-trained and walks well on a leash. He is possessive of his food and can be snippy when sharing is involved. Providing him with his own space for meals and consistent positive reinforcement will help him continue to thrive.
