Meet Mango and Kiwi, two sweet souls who were found together as strays in a field in Houston, Texas. After being rescued, they entered a local shelter where they received the love and care they needed until Saving Pups of Texas was able to welcome them into rescue. While we may never know what these gentle boys experienced before they were found, one thing is certain, they have hearts full of love. They are about three years old, and both shy and timid when first meeting new people. Kiwi tends to warm up more quickly, while Mango takes a little longer to build trust. But once they realize they are safe, their true personalities shine. They will gently approach, lean in for affection, and lick your hand as if they are thanking you for becoming their friend. These boys simply need what every dog deserves: patience, kindness, and a family willing to let them settle in at their own pace. Mango & Kiwi are playful when they feel comfortable, enjoy being around people, love kisses, pets, and attention, and are curious explorers who enjoy walks and outdoor adventures. They are well-mannered and eager to please. Both Mango and Kiwi have adapted beautifully in foster care. They love to give kisses and come up to you and rub against you for pets. They just need love and attention to help them know they are safe and loved. Mango and Kiwi share a special friendship, and we would love to see them adopted together. However, we believe they could be separated into equally loving homes with patient families experienced with shy dogs.
Ideal Home
A calm home with love, consistency, and companionship would be ideal for these boys. They are unsure about cats and children.

Mango and Kiwi are crate trained, potty trained, and walk nicely on a leash. They are well-mannered once they settle in and are adaptable to new environments with patience and routine.
