Michelle is a 3-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing around 48 pounds. She was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter and is now thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, awaiting transport to her forever family. Michelle is incredibly friendly, affectionate, and social, especially with other dogs, with whom she loves to play and nap. While she can be enthusiastic during play, she’s great at reading her playmates’ cues and adjusting her behavior. Michelle has a good amount of energy for outdoor play but settles beautifully indoors, making her a happy and mellow house companion. She has met children ages 8 and up and was sweet and loving, but due to her tendency to jump when excited, a home with kids 12+ or dog-savvy younger teens is recommended. She is fully housebroken, crate trained, and motivated by food, which helps her learn quickly. Michelle enjoys company and often seeks to be close to her people, showering them with affection and cuddles. She would thrive in a home with another friendly dog and a family that can provide love, structure, and playtime.

Training & Support
Michelle is fully housebroken and crate trained. She is food motivated and learns quickly, but she is still working on her manners. She can be a bit sneaky around food and is best fed separately. Continued leash training and structure will help her improve her leash manners, as she tends to pull. Supervision and crate time are important when she is unsupervised due to her chewing habits and potential to be an escape artist by scaling fences. She responds well to redirection.
