Rum is a 1-year-old, 35 lb mix of possible pointer, heeler, beagle, and dalmatian. She's a playful and active girl who was found with her sister, Tequila, behind a liquor store. They were only 8 weeks old at the time and got their names from the store. Rum and Tequila are not a bonded pair, but they do look quite similar with their spots! Rum is the more active of the two sisters and would do best in a home that can keep up with her energetic spirit. She is sweet, friendly, loving, playful, gentle, and kind, and she loves all animals and people she meets. She's also super smart and is sure to be the perfect addition to an active family!
Ideal Home
Rum would thrive in an active home. She loves children of all ages and would be fantastic in a home with them. She also loves other dogs and would be happy in a home with or without canine companions. Rum has been introduced to cats and ignores them, showing no prey drive, so she can likely live happily with cats with proper introductions.
Ongoing Health
Rum is spayed, heartworm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, and current on dewormer. She will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
Training & Support
Rum is crate trained and house trained. She knows how to walk on a leash and does well with it. She also rides in the car with no issues and would be a great adventure buddy!

Transportation
Rum is currently located in Texas. Transport is available to the following locations every 2-3 weeks: Albany and Latham, NY; Wells and Brattleboro, VT; Willington, Enfield, New Haven, and Dayville, CT; Port Chester, NY; Dayton and Akron, OH; Grove City and Bloomsburg, PA; Ridgefield and Mt Laurel, NJ; White Marsh/Elkton, MD; and Falls Church, VA. The adoption fee of $525 includes transport from Texas to these locations.
