Meet Robin!
Robin is a thoughtful, sensitive 1-year-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighing about 85 pounds. He came to us from a hoarding situation and is learning what it means to be loved and how to trust. Robin isn't the life of the party; he'd prefer a quiet evening at home. He takes his time getting comfortable with new people, places, and experiences, so patience and understanding are key as he builds confidence and forms lasting bonds. When startled, Robin's instinct is to retreat to a safe space, like his crate or a quiet corner of the yard. With consistency and kindness, he's blossoming beautifully! Robin particularly enjoys the company of other dogs and has started showing his playful side with his foster sibling. He's curious and explores at his own pace, is treat-motivated, and responds well to gentle correction. He's naturally well-mannered and doesn't engage in destructive behaviors like counter surfing. Robin is currently a bit lean, but with good nutrition and care, he'll fill out into the handsome boy he's meant to be.
Ideal Home
Robin would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard. He needs a patient and understanding adopter who will let him progress at his own pace. A confident resident dog would be a great companion to help build his confidence and show him the ropes. A calm environment where he can continue to learn that the world is a safe place will help him continue to grow.
Ongoing Health
Robin is currently underweight and is being helped to gain some weight through good nutrition and continued care.
Training & Support
Robin is still learning to trust and gain confidence. He responds well to gentle correction and is treat-motivated. His quiet nature means he needs a supportive environment to encourage him to come out of his shell.
